Lumbra does not kill. It transforms. Every match is a test of emotional perseverance against the creeping weight of Conversion.
The World
Lumbra
A limbo suspended between sleep and awakening. Lumbra is shaped by forgotten dreams, fading hope, fear, and ambition. It is not a prison — it is a mirror. The world reflects the emotional state of those trapped inside, darkening and corrupting as Hollowing spreads.
Not a prison. A mirror. And you may not like what it shows.
Factions
Two sides. One limbo. No mercy.
Every soul in Lumbra belongs to one of three states. Two are playable. One is a fate you fight to avoid.
Dreamer
"I still believe my dream can survive."
Awakened souls struggling to Ascend. Carry the Lumiric Flame from Lumira across Lumbra. Deposit it into Bonfires. Restore enough Beacons to open the Ascension Gate — and escape before the Shadow reaches you.
Interact with Lumira at the Lumiric Source. 8 seconds. You cannot charge if the Shadow is chasing you.
Cross Lumbra with your Flame. A Shadow hit at high charge drops you to 50%. At low charge, it resets you to zero.
Deposit your full charge into a Bonfire. Each one advances the Beacon toward restoration.
When 5 Beacons are lit, the Ascension Gate opens. Reach it. Escape. But only living Dreamers can pass.
Shadow
"I will corrupt your hope before you escape."
A former Dreamer consumed by Ilutox — a primordial entity that feeds on human drive. The Shadow does not kill. It converts. Hunt, capture, and drag Dreamers into Converters until they lose themselves entirely.
Track the Lumiric Flame through Lumbra's mist. The brighter the light a Dreamer carries, the easier the target.
Strike Dreamers to drain or reset their Flame. Interrupt every charge, every deposit.
Capture a Dreamer and place them into the Extrator Lumírico. Each Conversion erodes their identity further.
Three Conversions turns a Dreamer into a Hollow. With no one left who can Ascend, Lumbra belongs to Ilutox.
Hollow
The ones who couldn't hold on.
After the third Conversion, a Dreamer becomes a Hollow — a spectral remnant trapped between Light and Shadow. They remain in the match, invisible and untouchable, unable to interact with objectives or Ascend. They leave traces that only their former allies see as pale lumiric echoes — and only the Shadow reads as dark violet proof of Ilutox's reach.
The Conversion System
Three strikes. Then you're a Hollow.
Conversion is gradual. Each time the Shadow places a Dreamer into a Converter, their identity erodes a little further — until there is nothing left of the Dreamer they once were.
Dreamer
Full access. 0 conversions. Still fighting.
1st Conversion
Hollowing begins. Still able to carry the Flame.
2nd Conversion
Identity fractures. The light grows faint.
Hollow
Spectral remnant. Invisible. Eternal. Cannot Ascend.
World Objects
The map of hope and corruption.
Every structure in Lumbra serves a purpose. Some offer salvation. Others seal your fate.
Lumiric Source
Sacred location anchored to Lumira NPC — the keeper of flame. 2 per map. Only place Dreamers receive the Lumiric Flame. The Shadow is physically blocked from entering while a Dreamer charges.
Bonfire
Primary cooperative objective. Dreamers deposit Flame to advance progress from 0 to 100%. 7 per map — 5 must be fully lit to trigger the Ascension Gate. Visual and audio feedback scales with fill.
Lumiric Beacon
Ancient structures fueled by Lumiric Flame. Beacon is the lore name for the structure. Bonfire is the gameplay term for the interactive node that fuels it.
Ascension Gate
Portal out of Lumbra. Opens when 5 Beacons are restored. Only active Dreamers can pass through. Hollows cannot Ascend — they are bound to Lumbra forever.
Converter
Corrupted structure — the Extrator Lumírico. The Shadow carries captured Dreamers here to trigger a Conversion. Focused on destroying identity. Three uses turns a Dreamer into a Hollow.

There is only one escape.
Dreamer Victory
Ascension
5 Beacons restored. The Ascension Gate opens. Enough Dreamers pass through and escape Lumbra. Hope prevails.
Shadow Victory
Hollowing
All Dreamers converted into Hollows. None can reach the Gate. Lumbra claims them all for Ilutox. Silence wins.

Lumiric Chase is a game about emotional perseverance under pressure — the fear of losing yourself, and the will to keep the light alive.
