How to create a piano tutorial with falling notes
Create the classic falling-notes effect for piano tutorials — straight from a MIDI file (no camera) or with your hands on screen via webcam.
1
Enable Incoming Notes in Playback
For falling notes straight from a MIDI file (no camera needed), open Playback and turn on Incoming Notes (Falling Notes).
2
Adjust the note flow
Fine-tune Travel Time (how long notes take to arrive), Path Angle, and Note Size until it looks right.
3
Switch to Top View for the classic look
Set the camera to Top View for the top-down falling-notes look: click Top View on the Camera Gizmo (top right), or press Numpad 7.
4
Want your hands on screen? Use Magic Piano
To film your real hands, set up Magic Piano with a webcam (see the Magic Piano tutorial) and enable Video Delayed in the Streaming panel to keep everything in sync.
