Practice with Music Learning

Turn an incoming-note MIDI performance into a focused exercise, then choose whether the music should flow freely, wait for you or challenge your timing.

1

Prepare an incoming-note exercise

Load a MIDI file and set the relevant Stage Instrument to Note Behaviour > Direction: Incoming (Falling Notes). Practice is unavailable when notes are outgoing, during recording or while normal playback is active.

2

Open Practice

Open Music Learning > Practice, enable Practice mode, and use the mode selector to choose the exercise behavior.

3

Use Free for visual rehearsal

Free keeps the music moving while you follow the incoming notes. It is useful for learning the shape of a passage before you need the app to evaluate your timing.

4

Use Wait or Challenge for feedback

Wait pauses at each required note until you play it. Challenge keeps the timing expectation active; adjust the timing window and error feedback to make it forgiving or demanding.

5

Start small and review

Begin with a short phrase and a comfortable travel distance, then repeat it. Read the feedback after each attempt and only tighten the timing window once the notes feel reliable.
