Create your own particle effects

The Particles panel lets you build custom note effects — sparks, smoke, auras — with physics, colors and textures. Every note you play can look exactly the way you imagine.

1

Open the Effect Library

In the Stage panel, open Particles for the performer you want to customize. The library separates built-in Official effects from My Effects.

2

Create or duplicate

Create a new effect or duplicate an Official effect as a starting point. Your editable creation appears in My Effects.

3

Name and organize it

Give the effect a clear name. Duplicate, copy or paste settings when you want variants without rebuilding the recipe.

4

Shape it

Tweak Core (amount, size, speed) and Motion. In the physics controls, turn on Gravity and Collide Ground to make sparks fall and bounce on the keyboard.

5

Color it

Turn on 'Use Own Color' for a fixed color, or leave it off so particles follow your note colors. Life Color tints particles from birth to death.

6

Test it

Click Test to fire notes in a loop and see the effect live. Click again to stop.
